Hi everyone.....my name is Sarah and I've joined the forum for help, knowledge and support.
I am 33 years old and have had a longing for an African grey for many many years. I have been an animal lover all my life and currently have 6 horses, 3 cats,4 year old daughter and unfortunately a husband to boot lol!
Having seen soooo many people purchase horses with absolutely no knowledge of their husbandry whatsoever it infuriates me so I would not be naive as to do the same when it comes to such a specialised bird. Having owned budgies and conures in the past I miss having a bird in the house.
My longing for an African grey has always been there and to be honest has become so strong that my poor husband knows its only a matter of time........or is it??.
I have joined this forum to ask advise seek knowledge and find out if having one of these wonderful birds is both right for us as a family but primarily a good home for wonderful bird very intelligent bird.
So a small insight to my current life......in work full time as an undertaker......my husband as a head chef....look after my 6 babies which in the winter takes about 3 hours a day......my daughter is a very well brought up little girl who is currently about to star in her first cabert, and we'll the cats. ..they have the life if Riley...sleep all day eat and well sleep again. . they are older and useless when it comes to being cats......even the spiders mock them.
I welcome any insight you can give me and I thank you for all help and advise I can get before making the final decision
