Hi Everyone. I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and ask some advice. I have an African grey "big Boy". He's about a year old, very happy and healthy. But I am having a lot of problems training him to step up. He loves to have his neck scratched from inside the cage he's squimish. I suppose it's a matter of trust. He is never aggressive, but I would like him to learn so I can take him out of the cage. Please help!

I would think it is going to be easier to learn "step up" away from the cage.
That will teach him to trust you.
In the cage they can be territorial or defensive (they feel safe) and a bite may result.
Here is a video of Beaker and I doing more then just a "step up".
