We just took delivery of a 2015 Subaru Outback last Saturday. It has something called Eyesight. It monitors things in your blind spot, warns if you go over a white line without signalling a lane change, slows you down if you get too close to the vehicle in front, stops you if you might hit something and in addition to the backup camera, it warns if a person or vehicle is behind when you want to back up.
With all this incredible technology, on Thursday, Errol was waiting for traffic to clear before making a right hand turn and a vehicle plowed into the back of him!
No one was hurt but I still find it hard to believe. Errol is upset because the car is not even a week old and needs to be repaired.

I'm glad that no one was hurt and that the car was fixable.

I agree with Grant, Haz.
But then again: it's a bit hard to invent technology to protect you from another driver's stupidity.

Gosh Haz, that really sucks! Was Errol okay? Getting rear-ended can do some not-so-obvious damage to your back.
I've always like Subaru's, but never had one myself. Is it fixed up yet?

Errol is fine physically. He was really upset because the car was so new. We love Subaru. This is our fifth. Once you try Subaru, not many people would want to go to another brand. The holidays got in the way of having it fixed. We had to wait for the insurance adjuster and for Subaru to order the parts. We have an appointment for January 13th. They say it should take two days to repair. In the meantime, we have been using my Subaru.
