Hi Angela,
We welcome members to our forum. However, I would like to point out that we all have African Grey parrots we love dearly. Our discussions are mainly about our parrots which may not interest you unless you intend to get one also. If you do want a parrot, we will be happy to give you advice.

Hi, name is Missy Here because I have an African grey parrot named Jasper who I love with all my heart. He is 16 years old ( had him since he was a baby) he developed seizures in 2009. Blood test came out normal, started him on DMG. Would have a seizure once a month or every 2 months up until now, in march of this year he starting having cluster seizures 1 every hour resulting in hospital for 2 days. Started him on keppra. He is still having cluster seizures once a month, right now he is trying to come back from the last 1 which happened 2 days ago. Vet wants to add another medication with the keppra. Just wondering if anyone out there is going through the same thing and would love to talk. Thanks Missy

I do know that with humans who have seizures it is a common practice to have multiple medications to address the seizure disorder and it is often not a successful mix the first time to stop or bring the number of seizures down to a manageable amount. I say this because patience and faith in the prescribing doctor is essential and frustrating. Best of Luck to you and Jasper.
