There are a lot of Wood Pigeons around here. I heard the sound of agitated flapping yesterday evening and when I looked out of the window there were two Wood Pigeons in the drive and they seemed to be having some sort of disagreement. One of them moved away a few yards and then a young Wood Pigeon went walking over to them and stood between them as if to say: "Come on now you two, break it up". Jane

I haven't seen any type of pigeon around here for years.

There are a lot around here. and their numbers are increasing. Apparently they can recognise individual humans. One year they had a nest quite high up in the wisteria on the bedroom wall and it could be seen from the bedroom window. They never seemed to mind anyone opening the window and looking down at them and we got to see the eggs, then the chicks growing and being fed.

I would love to see that. One year a couple of little birds built a nest in a hanging flower basket outside my sister's kitchen window. She could watch the eggs hatch and see the babies. I haven't been so lucky.
