This is Beaker getting an "Air Bath".
I use very low pressure and NEVER spray the head area.
This was taken a few days after a "wet" bath.
He gets one (air bath) about once a month.
He is not being tortured, and in fact this offers some relief from all the dust.

MWAH HA HA HA HA...you know, if i tried this with Lucky, i'd be looking at missing fingers, ears, nose etc....
I presume it doesn't sting him?

You could duplicate the pressure by blowing through a soda straw. You could even try that method, but you would probably end up inhaling a lungful of parrot dust. I did this video as a demonstration of how much dust is created as everyone knows they are dusty, but by how much? A LOT! |

That's DUST coming off Beaker?? Geez I know they get dander...now I'm thinking of giving my Smokes an air bath also..and Amy my Blue Front!

He's going to need a bit of preening after this to get his feathers in order! Nice video. That is a lot of dust. Reminds me of when I pat a really old chair cushion in a house.

How often do you give Beaker his "air bath"? Gee..i have had my Smokey almost 30 yrs now,and Never has she had an air bath... I can just IMAGINE what would come off her!! lol

having just gone through the trauma with lucky, the only caution i'd give is watch that the little ones don't inhale / ingest too much of their own dust. Their little lungs really can't cope with much, and they are unable to cough up anything that goes in.
