I have admired Greys for a long time. Well I finally got one!!! His name is Country Boy. He is eight years old and so smart. He has been with us for just 5 days, he already know everyone name in the family. He will yell at my daughter, "Bailey! Bailey! Bailey get in here! Bailey what are you doing? He has an very large vocabulary. "He says 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 All good birdies go to heaven" He sings Rock a bye baby on his swing the whole song, He also know Old Mac Donald, but adds in the monkey sounds and some other verses that he has made up. LOL He is eating well, he has free choice organic pellets. For snacks he has yogurt covered raisins, nuts, dried fruit, peanuts, fruit, yogurt among other I am not sure the phrase eats like a bird applies to him. He eats about everything cabbage and carrots are his favorite veggies. He liked the oatmeal I made him for breakfast. He does not like fruit loops, and he will tell you "No fruit loops" He loves Chicken nuggets, he chips off the breading and normally just eats the Chicken. I am working on teaching him " Winner winner chicken dinner"
He will say "Where's the cat? Kitty cat Kitty cat where are you? Meow!"
He will tell us "good morning! What are you doing?
When we get ready to leave the house he will say "see ya later Good Bye"!
His first night he flew off the top of cage! He yelled out "BIRD ON THE FLOOR BIRD ON THE FLOOR I ask him to step up and he did.
He spends about 75 % of day out of his cage walking on top it climbing on the side, and the rest eating.
He learns new words quickly!
I am excited to be in the group and look forward to meeting you!

He sounds hilarious. How is he towards your family members? Can you hold him? Will he take treats from you?
If he is talking that much in front of you guys, then he must be comfortable.
I really like how he told on himself when he flew to the floor!

He takes food from anyone in the family. He will take food from anyone. Eating is one of favorite things to do.
Today I slept in and my daughter Bailey said he kept sayin "Kelly where you are at?" He also calls my husband by name. "Jerry going to work?". He really good with all and if a one of the cats or dogs get to close for his comfort zone, He will start jumping up and down and do his monkey sounds.
He is not real cuddly, but he has only been here for 5 days. Hopefully that will come as he adjust to his new family.
He must of had wonderful homes to be as friendly as he is.
I work from home, so I am with him all day long. Some of the things he says when I am on the phone.

When I got him from his previous owner we met half way. He started talking in his little carry cage. My husband hit the breaks a little hard and his cage slid about am inch and he yelled out "Hey whats going on" He uses his morning phrases in the morning and the same with his bed time phrases.
I was very skeptical to what kind of bird he would be. I answered a craigslist ad she wanted to trade for Lhasa Apso Puppy, I happen to have a litter ready and the rest is history.
She is very happy with her puppy and I could not be more happy with Country Boy!
He is a fantastic talker and eater.

Welcome to the forum.
You are lucky to get such a special boy. Rehomed birds usually take a while to adjust. I don't understand how his first owner could bear to part with him.

Well tonight for dinner, Country Boy enjoyed his pan seared pork chops and whole Wheat pasta with pesto sauce. He sitting on top of his cage chewing on the pork chop bone picking it clean. I think pork chops might be one of his favorites!

Well he finished up his dinner with some greek key lime yogurt. He took four big bites of that then let out a big burp. Think he done for a little bit. Nope he is back at the yogurt. I seriously can not believe how much he eats.
