We have a nickname for Koba: the Kobanator! Yesterday he called hubby a liar. Today he woke us early by crowing, "cock-a-doodle-doo!" With the volume full up, of course!

I took the comments from the shoutbox and moved them here to give a bit of background for this thread:
Dorothydot: Koba dead. Went out, forgot to put him in. Dogs got him. All dead, my Koba Beakertrout: Very sorry for your loss. Dorothydot: Soo hard. I can't stop crying. Jane: Oh no, so sorry to hear about Koba. Amoritay: OMG...I'm so sorry dororthydot ((((hugs)))) Stef: I'm so sorry... Shirl: Sorry to hear this...Shirl. Haz: It breaks my heart to lose one of our feathered babies. Rocx1958: Sorry to hear about your loss! Dorothydot: Thanks, everyone. Your support is much appreciated. Z00ropa: That is horrible, I am so sorry. Dorothydot: Yes, it has been terrible. I mourn my Koba! But we found a neighbor who has a CAG that is not getting the attention she deserves due to kids, goats, jobs, etc. So we are going to take Trixie home with us. Haz: Getting another grey to love helps to ease the pain

Thank you Adele! These messages are so important to keep and I'm so glad you added them to this thread. Again, dorothydot I'm so sorry about your loss... I agree with Haz that getting another parrot will certainly help (a tiny bit) to cope - at least it will take your mind to other thoughts.

Thank you for understanding. Our new little one, 12-year-old Noah-Noelle (Noah laid an egg) is now known as Trixie. She is still kind of in sticker shock, in a large cage in a strange room with strangers looking and talking to her and dogs barking at her. She does eat her kibbles very well, though. I'm hoping in a week or so, she will settle in better. Her old home was a cage 1/4 the size of this one, stuck off in the laundry room. Attachments:
