The power is back up here. Chris and Donna, how are you doing for getting gas? Grant Thanks to some gas brought to me from CT, I'm on 1/4 tank and REFUSE to wait on lines that are miles long with people running out of gas waiting for gas! Totally insane. I think what I have should last me about 3 more days until I am down to E, then it will just be OH WELL! My husband's very nice boss has been picking up employees close by to get them into work without using up what little gas they have. I have a gas station right on the corner of my block who got a fuel delivery last night while they were closed...the line has been 2 miles long for over 24 hours with people sleeping in their cars waiting for the delivery. I couldn't even get off my block this morning because the scavengers thought I was trying to "cut the line" and were bumper to bumper refusing to move just so I could get through. I had to get out of my car to yell - I just need to pass through I DON'T WANT GAS!!! Lines to fill up containers are much shorter but TRY AND GET A CONTAINER, not happening and I only have a 2.5 gallon container, if my husband feels like standing in the cold to fill it up, more power to him. Right now I am hoping my brother in law comes through tomorrow with some 5 gallon containers from PA and really hoping he comes with them filled up as well! They keep saying the problem is not something to panic about and will restore to normal in a couple of days...HOWEVER...these weather people keep talking about this Noreaster coming through on Wednesday...somehow I don't see things getting better if that happens.

Wow, that is pretty crazy. Hopefully this new system isn't so bad as the last storm. My sister is up in New York (Rochester) and she was okay. She said the storm didn't seem much worse than any other storm, but power was out 1.5 blocks from her place even up until now. That is a long time to be without power, but it seems like your situation is drastically worse. Thanks for the update.

I think gas in the city has always been insane, but here in South Jersey, not so bad. We had 2 5 gal cans full and both vehicles full before the storm. I've played this game before..... the first foraging trip out, saw hour long lines, etc. Now, normal waits here. Keeping the buckets of water I have until after the Noreaster!

Husband cracked last night and drove 45 minutes north to score some gas. Filled his tank and brought enough home for me to have 3/4 of a tank. Lines are not better today...funny - but not so funny...saw on the news a fuel tanker heading who knows where - but the convoy of cars behind him did not care where he was going because they were going to follow him to whatever gas station he was delivering to...I can only laugh about it. It looked really crazy to see.
