Mitzi never used to like being on my shoulder but recently she has become very broody and clingy and she just wants to snuggle in.

Ash sits on my shoulder all the time, but only my left (and she will only let me pick her up with my right hand, go figure). I'm sure one day she might get angry or a wild neuron will fire and she will pull one of my eyes out, if she does it will be my fault for keeping a can opener with an attitude on my shoulder, but so far she will happily sit there. Once in a while she will get playful and bite at my ear but not hard.

I've had Rocky for about 6 days now and he has been trying to get to my shoulder persistently the entire time. A few minutes ago he flew from his perch to my shoulder in my office as I am working and he did it so well that I am letting him stay for now. He is being very polite right now, he beaked my ear very gently once so far but otherwise is simply sitting there making soft happy noises and gently trying to get my hair out of its pony tail. I think I will let him stay until he does something that I don't want. If that happens I will gently remove him and put him back on his perch. Attachments:

My first grey used to ride around on my shoulder all the time. He ripped my earring out. Fortunately, it was one that had a post and fastener so it didn't injure my ear but I had to turn his head sideways to poke the earring out of his mouth. I never found the back. He also used to grab my glasses and throw them across the room. The lens had lots of scratches in the corner from his beak. He also enjoyed preening my hair.
Chyloe has never shown an inclination to go up on my shoulder and I will keep it that way. She is content to ride around on my arm even though it hampers my activities.

what is it about this shoulder sitting thing??? I think lucky doodle's been on here in my absence because all of a sardine the bugger is trying EVERYTHING to get up there.
Chances of him succeeding.........ZERO! With his history of blood & gore i am SOOOO not letting his can opener with attitude near my schnozz! Next thin i know he'll decide my schnozz is like them little pink piggy wiggies and start going after it as well!
Not gonna happen!
