What is the calendar like? I posted another card yesterday. Experience seems to be that mail from here gets to the US quite quickly but then hangs around in various places over there before reaching its destination!

I sent my card a couple of weeks ago and had one red feather from Ozzy. Right after I mailed it, Chiku dropped a grey one - figures. I just hope Preston is cheered by our care for him. He is so missed.

I mailed my card to Preston with a mix of red and gray Ruby feathers along with some down. For some crazy reason, my wife saves every feather that drops and some of the down too. We have fancy jars full of feathers. Could she be a hoarder? Anyway, I too hope Preston enjoys our cards and feathers. You are very right, he is sorely missed here. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

More feathers came !! They surround my fathers picture (he passed many years ago). When I visited did I take a picture of the calendar - NO, I forgot. So sorry. Thank you all. Oh, what do birds play with? Or do you give them to occupy their time?

Playing with toys can vary from one Grey to another. They often have personal preferences about type of toy and some play more than others. They can be frightened of new toys.
Preston wrote this in a thread I wrote last May about a new lamp: "Pete would freak out, but Sisika would try to get it for the attack. Yesterday my Daughter bought her a new toy and she was pacing the top of the cage with that clicking beak threat noise just waiting for it to be hung up."
Most like things they can chew up such as rolls of paper, cardboard tubes etc. blocks of wood wrapped in paper that they can chew off.

I'm always so busy when I go there I forget to take pictures of the feathers surrounding my fathers picture. Then I look at the calendar and forget to take a photo of that. So sorry folks. I know you'd love to see it. How is he doing - well that's a though guestion. Not better but his confusion comes and goes. He stopped some medication that was helping with that because of the side effects. So now we believe his confusion is increasing. But now we have to monitor his medication because he may have added to the problem by not or over taking meds. The feather and cards are awesome. He does realize your sending them. He knows all the birds names and can recall some stories. We as the family surely appreciate talking with him and sharing the moments. He saves the feathers for me to place on dads picture, that's my job!! With great appreciation for all that you have done, again thank you! Chyrel

Thank you so much for keeping us updated. Preston is so special to all of us - my prayer is that he can feel our love and concern for him and be proud of all he has given to us. Wish I lived closer so I could meet him in person. He is one very special guy!! Marilyn
