Donna was right. I have found this from 2009. Preston wrote in reply 16: "No, as you all know, I will answer any question since I think you need to trust me with my advice on my God Fids. I care for this forum feathers or not, and am self actualized. I'm the same as anyone out there with few exceptions, and I'll tell those if asked. I had a male nurse in ICU last time I was in the joint. He and his wife love birds which includes Tiels, I think tiels are the best small parrot having had a breading pair and 8 offspring. Gentle and loving and a 10 one ease of care list. He (nurse) saw my desktop of Pete and Sis, and recognized them as CAGS. I invited them over to see the birds and his wife wife played with Sisika while we talked guy stuff. It seemed to me like hours and they were nice folks so I'm seriously considering them for Sis, unless someone pipes up." DF - really he keeps saying its some one from the forum. I know a lot of folks say they want them cause at first their fun. But we all know how much work they can be. I've tried to do a search on the forum but have had no luck. Your help would be appreciated. Nope, they'll stay with "daddy bird" as long as possible.

Chyrel, it comforts me to know that you are taking this seriously, and that it will be some one who Preston has picked. He is such a special person, and I would love to see that Pete and Siska can stay together, in a life time home. There are so many good ,caring people here at the forum, that no matter what you decide Preston will be happy.

Chyrel, Thank you so much for your concern for Siska and Pete. I am glad that they are right by Preston's side and will be there near him.
Thank you also for contacting us. We love these two and want the absolute best for them and Preston. It is heartening to know that you understand the work and commitment needed to give African Greys a happy and healthy home.
Anything we can do we will,
Grant

Chyrel- as you can see by the above, Jane was a good doo-bee and found the post Preston made that I was referring to. If there is someone on the forum he's made arrangements with, I personally don't remember seeing in the free for all fodder, and maybe it was off line personally. Maybe that person hasn't had a chance to sign on yet and learn of this situation and might be able to do so this weekend. I read on further the excerpt -- Adele was specifically mentioned for Pete. She lives up North now. Well, if you have ever had the pleasure of talking to her on the phone, you'd know where I got that. I love her dearly, she is so sweet in calling me to see if I'm OK. I will admit that Pete is in my will to go to her. Read more: vdnent.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5086&page=1#ixzz1tKuv0Mev

Looks like we have the answers in that two page thread then, in reply 6 for Pete and in reply 16 for Sisika.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Thank you Jane for writing me. We have been on vacation for the last week and did not have Internet access.
I think one of the hardest things about having birds is who to leave them to if there becomes a need.
Since our grandchildren are not old enough to accept the responsibility and our children are not "bird" people, Charlie and I named a parrot sanctuary in Florida, to care for the girls. We don't want them separated and with the trust fund they should live out a nice life with other grays should the need arise.

Do we have any updates on Preston? He has been on my heart the last few days and my hope and prayer is that he is comfortable. Such a special person.
And Loyce I agree with how hard it is to determine what to do with your birds when you're gone. We haven't come to a conclusion yet and it weighs on me. Our kids aren't bird people either so we're on the lookout - do not want them separated.

I haven't spoken with Preston in a while. He has mentioned several times about me taking care of Pete (I had thought it was both his birds, but I'm not so sure; whatever I can do to help). I know he said he put direction in his will, so hopefully that can be found. I do live up North, and would gladly take care of his bird(s).
I'll continue trying to contact Preston. Hopefully I can get through sometime.
Chyrel, thanks for posting on here. I've spoken with your mom before as Preston wanted to introduce me to make the bird transfer easier were it ever to take place. Hopefully your mom remembers me.
I am very sorry to hear about the current situation. We all care deeply for Preston. Thank you for the update.

Adele - it comforts me for Preston's (and Sisika and Pete) that you are willing and ready to take on his birds. I know you would carry on his legacy of tremendous love and care. May we all find someone so competent and caring when the time comes for us to make this difficult decision. Blessings to our dear friend, Preston.

Thank you all.. This will be a huge relief. I'll contact Adele personally to get things ironed out. I know when I tell Preston I've made contact with her he'll be thrilled. His memory is so poor, but when reminded he's on it. I'll keep you updated.

Hello to all my old forum friends :-).
I am terribly heartsore to have been told by Jane by email today that Preston is so terribly ill. We share our birthday and from the very first day I came to the forum as a new mommy to my beautiful Piccolo, it was Preston who welcomed me and who was a never ending source of knowledge. His love and passion for his own birds as well as the extended forum family birds was inspiring. Even when he was sick or in pain and we did not hear from him, he would suddenly pop up again and give someone advice.
I have over the past months sent him emails to which I did not receive a reply but I just assumed he was busy but never did I even think that this beautiful big caring teddy bear of a man would be so very very ill.
Preston we all love you and I pray that God is with you and that he grant you strength and courage and serenity. You are surrounded by your family and by your two precious greys and I send you all my love from the other side of the world.
Sandy and Piccolo. Xxxxx
