Sometimes Willow will go to the bottom of her cage and deliberately walk backwards, usually 4-6 steps. Does anyone's Grey do this and what the heck does it mean? I can't see anything about her body language that says she's uncomfortable, but I just found it a bit odd.

Andi plays with some toys in the bottom of her cage. She will walk backwards, then puff up, squak a couple of times, then run to attack the toy. The funnier part is when she grabs the toy, rolls on her back and throws it. She repeats this for an hour a day, then talks herself to sleep.

Monty sometimes walks backwards and although he can't fly he flaps his wings furiously and moves backwards in a circle.

Thanks as always for your incredibly prompt replies! I'm relieved she's not the only one. I will wait to see if she adds any flapping or toy stalking. I have a basket of toys at for her, but for the moment she is just walking backwards and looking a bit confused.
I would love to see Monty flapping furiously (why do I think that food bits and any feathers from the bottom of the cage end up everywhere?? lol) or Andi on her back throwing toys!

P.J., when she needs to poop, walks backwards, poops, and walks backward into it. Yuck!! Needless to say, she gets her feet washed frequently- they're probably cleaner than a surgeons

Wilber is a backwards walker too, but also does a "penguin" (think I may have mentioned this before) on our wooden floor, he puts his beak to the ground and his breast and scoots himself along while making noises

Sounds more like a train than a penguin! ;D
