I was wondering is it right or wrong to let a bird explore your finger with its mouth or beak?? I am talking about just a little pressure. I was rubbing a little Senegals head this afternoon and when I stopped he would reach out with his beak and put a little pressure on my finger as if to be saying I want some more don't stop. Can this lead to biting to get what he wants or was he just playing with me. Our new fried Einstien will be joining us shortly and I don't want to instill any bad behaviour because I didn't stop something like this from the start.

Romeo seems to do the same thing, kinda like tasting you. This proves to be harmless here so let it have it's way.

Lily will do this--almost like she is preening my fingers--going in and out of each one with her beak and cleaning them up.... It is just something they do in a loving way from what I can tell. And if I stop patting her she will push at my hand or take her beak and grab my hand and put her head under my finger!! Very cute and loving little bugger!! She just loves any kind of attention.
Fried Einstein! Hmmm. I can see that is a typo for sure!!! hahaha ;D

Yep.....Sammy does it too.....seems to be very common. Many times when I put my hand out for him to step up he just lowers his head as if to say "do me...do me"! So I scritch his head and when I stop he clicks and nibbles and/or gently pulls my fingers because he wants MORE!!

And to take the nibbling fingers thing further ... Joshua grabs hold of my finger (when he is sitting on my hand) to let me know he wants ME to move HIM somewhere else .... cheeky swine. A gentle nibble is given for the first request, followed by increasing pinches until he gets his way or is simply put down.
