Thank you everyone. We have now had confirmation of the date for the bowel surgery - 1st April. (The liver surgeons had to approve the sequence of treatment as they will be involved at a later date) It is a major operation but they plan to do it using the laparoscopic technique as this reduces the time spent in hospital and the recovery time.

Not to mention that Laparoscopy is less invasive so the next crew doesn't have the older incision to work around. Good news.

Sounds like a game plan. I hope Michael can take consolation that lap is better than being opened fully. Gotta find the silver linings somewhere. We'll be thinking of you all on April 1!!!

That si good that they can do laparoscopic surgery. There are a lot less risks involved included less chance of infection. I hope it goes well. April 1st is coming up soon. Try to keep a positive attitude as that is excellent medicine (although much easier said than done). My best of wishes to you and Michael.

Jane, I am sure Michael will do well with all his treatment. Just an FYI, in case it eases your mind just a little, my father had one foot of his colon taken out due to colon cancer. He also has had prostate cancer and stents in his heart. All this in about 3 years time. He is doing great!! Hope that gives you a little lift of spirit to know that this is beatable. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. You both are in my prayers. Karen

Good luck to Michael tomorrow. Try not to wear a whole in the floor if you pace or read the same page in your book a million times! I did during my hubby's heart surgery...... I hope you two can get some sleep tonight.

We are all thinking about you and your family today. Hokie is in an exceptional mood, and this message wouldn't be complete without his best regards as well. Thanks for all that you do and hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Alex
