I've heard that birds won't poop from where they sleep because, in the wild, that would be a sign for predators of where to find them. (I don't mean they don't poop in their cages, I mean straight from the place on the perch where they sleep.)
Abby never used to do this but in the last 3 months, she occasionally does. She isn't wild-caught, but many of her good wild-bird instincts are intact.
Has she realized that she has no predators? Or, is this something we should be worried about?
Do other people's birds poop from their sleeping spot?

Mine save it until the morning and wait until I go and get them up. I think they both usually get off their sleeping perches first, but not always!

Preditors for CAGs come from above (naturally), you can scratch their neck long before enveloping their back with your hand. Humans protect their throat and consider a pat on the back just fine. Jane is correct as Pete waits to go after the cage is open, and the weak of stomach should turn away!
